New Jersey Nursing Schools and Programs

New Jersey is a melting pot of cultures and people, since Jersey City was the first or final destination for many immigrants throughout history. New Jersey is very small in size, however has nice white sandy beaches and small resort towns that are popular summer destinations. Home to the Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, this is 172-foot-tall red and white lighthouse at the north tip of the island. In northwestern Jersey there are mountain slopes for skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking. New Jersey offers students opportunity and support, in addition to enjoy the charming Garden State, with miles of striking coastline.

New Jersey is well aware of the problems they may face with the baby boomers coming upon retirement. They have actively created a plan to get more and more nurses educated before the shortage become a crisis in the state. The state has top notch nursing programs at all levels institutions. We will give you community colleges, technical schools, universities, and teaching hospitals that will all gladly help you earn your nursing credentials. One part of the plan is called the New Jersey Nursing Initiative, a new $22 million program aimed at averting a critical nursing shortage in the state where nursing master's and doctoral students receive free tuition through eight in-state schools who are the programs recipients. The graduates must then instruct nursing students at a New Jersey college for at least three years following graduation. This will then help New Jersey not have high waitlists or turn down qualified applicants. New Jersey is very active in the recruitment and retention of nurses as well. So the opportunities are endless in this small but great state.
