Kansas Nursing Schools and Programs

Kansas, also known as the "Sunflower" state is a very agricultural state that leads in wheat and sunflowers. Kansas has two major rivers, the Kansas and the Arkansas, which provide much of the fishing and outdoor activities for the area. Kansas is known for its rich Native American history where many of the states names are derived from. A nursing student is sure to find peace and openness in the state of Kansas.

Kansas amazingly does not have the shortage of nurses nearly as awful as the rest of America. However, Kansas does provide excellent nursing programs through community colleges and universities to meet any nursing student's expectations. A school to note is University of Kansas in Kansas City. Students at this university can earn a BSN, MSN or proceed into the PhD program. One issue Kansas is addressing is encouraging mid career nurses to pursue advanced specialties in the field, such as practitioner, legal nursing, admin or nurse education. Kansas major nurse employers to consider post grad are hospitals, medical centers, long term care facilities, and doctor’s offices.
