Arizona Nursing Schools and Programs
Arizona also known as the "Grand Canyon" state is one of the Four Corners states. In addition to the Grand Canyon, many other national forests, parks, monuments, and Indian reservations are located in the state. Although much of it is desert, Arizona also has recreational activities such as skiing, water sports, and golfing! Arizona’s population has been steadily climbing which increases the states need for nurses.
Several nursing programs in the state focus on the needs of rural patients and especially on the special needs of the Native American population. These programs actively reach out to the Native American community with clinics and education. They are increasing their numbers of RN’s in the state largely due to the extensive nursing degree programs offered. For instance, Arizona State University (ASU) College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation in Phoenix is one of the largest nursing colleges in the U.S. with options of obtaining your bachelor, master, and doctorate degrees. There is a great need for nurses in the Phoenix area that travel jobs remain popular because of the benefits of being a travel nurse.
