Description

 

Scholarship for undergraduate FLORIDA residents who are children of deceased or disabled veterans or children of servicemen classified as POW's or MIA's. Parent must have served during one of the following wars, conflicts, or events: Persian Gulf War; Operation Just Cause in Panama; U.S.S. Stark Attack; Newfoundland Air Tragedy; Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada; Multinational Peace Keeping Force in Lebanon; Operation Eagle Claw, Iranian Rescue Mission; Vietnam Era; Korean Conflict; Operation Enduring Freedom; World War II; or World War I. Veterans or servicemen must have been Florida residents during the time of the conflict or event in which they served. Applicant must attend a Florida public institution. Applications must be postmarked by April 1st to the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs, PO Box 31003, St. Petersburg, FL 33731-8903, and to the Office of Student Financial Assistance by April 1st. Award is for cost of tuition and fees; renewable up to 8 semesters with a minimum 2.0 GPA and 12 credits per term. Number of awards and award amount varies.
