Description

 

Scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students to study abroad as ambassadors of goodwill for three or six months to study the culture and language. Approved languages include: Arabic, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili and Swedish. Applicants must have completed a minimum of two years of college coursework or have the equivalent professional experience. Students must also have a minimum of one year college-level coursework or the equivalent in the language of study. Applicants must be a citizen of a country in which there are Rotary Clubs. Members of Rotary clubs are eligible and encouraged to apply however, Rotarians, their relatives and Rotary employees are ineligible. Award amount varies and covers transportation, tuition and fees for language training, and homestay expenses (scholars will stay with local families when possible). Due date and number of awards vary depending on each Rotary district. APPLICATIONS ARE PROCESSED THRU LOCAL ROTARY CLUBS; applications sent to the international Rotary Foundation are not considered without the required endorsements.
