ALASKAN SEA SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP Alaskan Sea Service Scholarship Fund c/o U.S. Navy Leallue Council 55-151 P.O. Box 201510 Anchorage,AK 99520-1510 Summary: To provide financial assistance for college to the dependent children of naval personnel in Alaska. Eligibility: Open to the dependent children and spouses of active, retired, missing in action, or killed in action members of the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard who are (or were at the time of death or MIA status) legal residents of Alaska. Evidence of acceptance at an accredited college or university for full-time undergraduate study leading to a baccalaureate degree must be presented. Selection is based on academic performance, character, leadership ability, community involvement, and financial need. Financial data: The stipend is $1,000 per year; funds are paid directly to the academic institution for tuition, books, and fees. Duration: 1 year; may be renewed 1 additional year. Additional information: This program is jointly sponsored by the Navy League of the United States and the Fleet Reserve Association. Number awarded: Up to 4 each year. Deadline: April of each year.
