The John G. Shedd Aquarium offers a Fishes Internship to undergraduates who are studying aquatic science or ichthyology. Interns gain firsthand experience in data collection, food preparation, exhibit maintenance and daily husbandry duties. Interns may also work towards accomplishing a research, observational or school project. You must be at least 18 years old and commit to working a minimum of 24-40 hours per week for three months. Also, you must have had a TB test within the last 12 months or are willing to get tested, have a valid driver's license and be able to regularly lift at least 60 pounds. Additionally, you must have good hearing, visual, communication and writing skills. The application also requires that you provide a resume, a cover letter with your reasons for your interest in the program, a list of references and two letters of recommendation.
