CBYX - Full Scholarship to Germany
AYUSA Study Abroad administers 50 full scholarships for a high school exchange program in Germany. Funded by the German Bundestag and the U.S. Department of State, the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) program has helped send thousands of young leaders toward their global future. Recipients of this prestigious scholarship will gain real world views of current affairs and German social, political and economic life -- all while living with a host family and attending high school for an academic year. The program includes a month-long language camp and trips to Cologne and Berlin. No previous German language study is required. Students depart July/August 2007 and return June/July 2008. General Requirements: Finalists are selected based on merit, cultural interest, and commitment to strengthening future U.S.-German relations. To be eligible you must be a U.S. citizen, national and/or permanent resident, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and you must be between the ages of 15 and 18 at the start of the program. In an effort to reflect the diversity of the U.S., students from all racial, ethnic, economic, religious and social backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as are students with disabilities. To apply for the Congress-Bundestag Scholarship through AYUSA, you must live in Southern California (in or south of Monterey, San Benito, Fresno, or Inyo Counties), Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, or Texas.
